Rebuilding Together’s Veterans Housing Initiative was created to meet the growing needs of veterans from past and present wars. The initiative serves to fill the gaps in housing modifications and repair services that retired and active service men and women struggle to meet. Working in partnership with corporate sponsors, Rebuilding Together’s Veterans Housing Initiative strives to provide safe and accessible housing for all low-income veterans.
The goal of Rebuilding Together’s Veterans Housing Initiative is to support, honor and help veterans and military families in need through home modifications and repairs to provide safety, accessibility and comfort. Nationally, the Veterans Housing currently supports two programs to help us attain this goal, Heroes at Home and Serving Those Who Serve. We are actively seeking sponsors who share our passion for serving the military and veteran community.
Heroes at Home, sponsored by Sears Holdings, complements the Rebuilding Together mission of providing home modifications and repairs to low-income homeowners, by focusing our services on veterans, military widows and widowers, and active duty military personnel and their families. Serving Those Who Serve provides home modifications and repairs to severely disabled military men and women returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
