The Builder's Olympiad brings teams from around Broward County to compete
in
fun and challenging Olympic-type events that demonstrate their construction
skills. It is an afternoon of entertainment for friends, colleagues and the
whole family.
The competitive events are designed to be challenging for the teams and entertaining for the spectators.
Some of the prior competitive events included: The Florida Handsaw Massacre,
Nail Driving Force, Wheelbarrow Assembly, Tool Toss, Pipe Dream Competition,
Puzzling Plan, Wheelbarrow Derby, Material Monument Madness and Level, Plumb & True
Contest.
The Builder's Olympiad is the signature annual fundraising event of Rebuilding Together Broward County. The funds are used to further the Mission of Rebuilding Together- "Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners."
In Broward County, our focus is to restore safe and sanitary living conditions for very low-income homeowners, especially the elderly, disabled and families with children.
The Programs of Rebuilding Together Broward County include:
- Annual Rebuilding Together Day on the last Saturday in April.
- Year-round support of:
- urgent home repairs
- home safety improvement projects
- non-profit facility improvements
- special projects such as “Serving Those Who Serve” and “Heroes at Home”
